Jamie Stoia Photography

Jamie was a girl that we met shooting a wedding in the very south-eastern corner of Minnesota.  Then she became our go to girl in Minneapolis as we were expanding up North.  Then after a few conversations and the realization that we all think way too much alike, we became friends.

That is just how it happens with Jamie.  With us, just like with her clients, she has a great way with people.  She is passionate and hard working and her photos show it.  Enjoy this short video we shot and edited for Jamie's website.

austin + amy

best thing about this business, hands down - getting to know so many great people and tell their stories.  these guys are no exception....

what a great event for all those involved!  here's some of that happiest day:

sheraton hotel

last month, jess from the sheraton hotel contacted us.  she had heard about us from a mutual friend (and great photog, caleb jamin) and inquired about a promotional piece for their location.  brad and i met with her the same day and could instantly tell that she was very passionate about providing the best possible experience for her clients.  she was EXACTLY the type of person we love to work with.

we came up with a plan to follow a couple through their day (in true oceanwide style) and their experience at the sheraton.  the only problem - they were having a huge wedding show before we would be able to shoot an actual event there and needed the video right away.  so, we staged a few things... and we're planning on going back soon to give them the whole enchilada.

if you're looking to have a beautiful wedding in des moines, please consider the sheraton.  we know jess will take care of absolutely everything!

A Redwing Wedding

Adam and Kjersti are from all over the place!  They were living in Arizona, he's from Boston, she's from Minnesota.  So the wedding was kind of a let's get this together kind of thing.  And get together they did.  On a beautiful day in early September this last year the couple shared openly how they felt for each other.  Adam's vows weren't mic'd up properly during the ceremony for all to hear so we were excited to share this with them so that everyone they knew could hear the honest and emotional things that he shared with his wife.

New and old Oceanwide fans, we hope you enjoy this highlights even if it is a few months late getting here!

Nate and Joy  1.1.11

It's been a while since we've blogged, and yes blog snobs I know that you gotta do it often to make it really work.  New Year's resolution made I guess.

Anyway, we did a wedding on New Year's day that was very special.  I met Nate about 3 years ago and Joy about 2.  I was hired to play music in Nate's backyard for his annual summer party.  What an AWESOME couple.  I watch as they go out of their way to be gracious and kind to everyone from family and friends to the help they have hired.  Everybody feels at home.  Heck my wife and her friend even showed up to last year's party and ended up having so much fun that they passed out on Nate and Joy's driveway....yeah.

So, when Joy started watching our films and asking about our services I was really excited.  I knew their wedding would be something special.  A great way to bring in the new year.  Great people and an absolutely gorgeous setting in Downtown Des Moines, IA at the Scottish Rite Center.

Andy and I woke up early to shoot Des Moines in all of it's post New Year's eve calm.  It was an extremely cold but beautiful start to the day.  We got to work with some awesome vendors including our new friend Amy Allen who is an amazing Des Moines photographer.  If this SDE is an indication of how our 2011 is going to be, than bring it ON!!!
